APW - Hamilton, 11J, "Constant, St. Louis, MO." marked mvt, "Mermod Jaccard & Co, St. Louis, MO." marked dial, 18S, heavy 14K gold Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. marked HC made by Jeannot & Shiebler, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#25059. Gross weight of assembled watch 85.6 dwt (133.2 g). A very rare watch, the total production of this gilt finish hunting case version of the 11 jewel Hamilton is estimated to be only 100 made. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, sets properly in clockwise direction but setting mechanism comes to an abrupt halt when turned counterclockwise, overhaul needed for normalized setting function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some overall haze to gilt tone, some scattered surface spots with majority to barrel bridge; flawless dial; excellent hands, minute with some oxide and finish loss; case shows very little wear, no exterior dents or dings, cuvette with shallow crease-type dent around its midpoint, small ding to lower portion of cuvette, excellent engine turning and engraving detail, inner lip of case rear with a curved mark not far from pendant location that is somewhat ambiguous but we suspect may have been a witness mark from a previous movement's case screw that has since been polished to reduce its appearance; tight bow, crown shows light wear; clean plastic crystal with some mild marks of internal hand rub.
